Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS A RCC?

A RCC (or registered clinical counsellor) is a counsellor (therapist) who has a Masters of Counselling and is in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. Many, but not all, insurance providers cover therapy by a RCC under their extended health plan. Some universities and organizations also provide a "budget" to use for therapy provided by a RCC. To see if you can receive coverage, please check with your workplace or school.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

Alexandria charges is $160 for a 50 minute session and $235 for an 80 minute session. Amy charges $80 for a 50 minute individual session, $110 for an 80 minute individual session, and $120 for a 50 minute couples session. Payment is collected at your appointment time through the Jane App. There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. A few sliding scale spots are available with both counsellors to help make therapy more accessible for those requiring a lower fee.

DO YOU PROVIDE IN PERSON SESSIONS AND VIRTUAL SESSIONS? WHAT IF I AM FROM ANOTHER PROVINCE?

Sessions are offered in person and online for Alexandria, and online for Amy.  We ask that if either us feel unwell  prior to an in person session that we move the session to virtually or reschedule for later in the week.

We are based out of British Columbia, which means we can counsel clients who live in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT 'FIT' FOR ME?

Therapeutic relationships are like any relationships – connection is key! Therapy is vulnerable, and I want you to feel as comfortable as you can while doing the hard work. In our initial phone consultation and first few sessions I can get a sense of who you are and what approaches will help support you, make our sessions feel safe and push you in a way that you get the most out of our time. I am always happy to make referrals if you feel like you want to try another therapeutic style or if this doesn’t feel like a right fit.
