 Me & My Approach

I understand through my work (as well as my own time in therapy) how important it is to feel like you have someone who "gets it". In therapy, we work together as a team. I come in with my training, expertise and recommendations to use inside and outside of session. You come in ready to share, work together and build upon your own skills and strengths. That isn’t saying that the process can’t be hard. Things that are worth it rarely are. But I will be here along the way and be on your side.

I believe in seeing the whole person versus just their struggles, so in session you will hear me ask about your hobbies, passions and strengths throughout our work. I gravitate to using ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)  because it helps work with vs against your struggles and for you to create a meaningful and value based life. I also believe in looking at the 'big picture' (aka the environment you are in) and incorporate social justice lens into my work. From a strength based and client centered approach, I am there to help you create the foundation to tackle the hard stuff.

I received my Masters in Counselling with a specialization in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. In my first few years as a therapist, I worked with children, teens and adults in school based and outpatient treatment settings. Returning to Canada, I have had the privilege to work in group therapy practices while also providing therapeutic services for Vancouver Coastal Health. I established my own private practice in 2021 and have loved the flexibility it has allowed me to work with great people in a setting that works best for them. I love hearing about my client's passions and we may connect over enjoying the outdoors, traveling, podcasts, reading or 'bad' (aka excellent) reality television.
